About
This 3,430-acre reservoir sits on the Rogue River in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, approximately 34-40 miles northeast of Medford and 40 miles from Crater Lake National Park, near the town of Trail. Created by the William L. Jess Dam (managed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers), Lost Creek Lake winds for 10 miles through paddle-friendly water with 30 miles of shoreline. The reservoir features numerous coves and tributary arms at the northeast and northwest corners. Average depth 136 feet, maximum depth 325 feet at the dam. Joseph H. Stewart State Recreation Area serves as the main access point with over 200 campsites and extensive day-use facilities.
