About SUP Oregon

My first time on a paddleboard was in 2013. I took a lesson from Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe in Bend, and we paddled the Deschutes. I was hooked.

Next, I went on a big roadtrip where I hit Lake McDonald, Flathead Lake, and Earthquake Lake, all in Montana. Since then I’ve paddled all over the world, from Lake Bled, Slovenia to Bocas del Toro Panama.

But I live in Southern Oregon, and over the past 13+ years, I’ve come to appreciate the amazing variety of paddleboarding right here in Oregon. I’ve paddled extensively across Southern Oregon, but also on the coast and all parts of the state.

Why SUP Oregon Exists

It can be a little intimidating to find new places to paddle. It’s hard to figure out the details, and it can even be dangerous to go into situations unaware.

That could be a river with whitewater way beyond your skill level, or it might just mean leaving your car in a parking lot known for break-ins. That’s the kind of information you need before you drive an hour or more to a lake.

This is the resource that I wished existed. So I made it!

What You'll Find Here

I work remotely, which gives me the flexibility to get out on different water almost every weekend during Oregon’s paddling season. These days I mostly paddle with my husband, though I spent years paddling solo and with friends before we were married.

My goal is to eventually cover paddleboarding locations across all of Oregon. I’m building this directory one paddle session at a time, with my firsthand experience as well as other valuable contributors. If you have essential information to share, I’d love to hear from you!
